What's Included in the Unvented Cylinder Service?

During our unvented cylinder service, we perform a range of checks and tests to ensure your cylinder is operating safely and efficiently. Here’s what’s included in our comprehensive cylinder service:

Visual Inspection

Our engineers will begin the unvented cylinder service by performing a comprehensive visual inspection. They will carefully examine all components, pipework, and connections to detect any indications of damage, leaks, or corrosion.

Pressure and Expansion Relief Valve Testing

The pressure relief valve and expansion relief valve are crucial safety components of an unvented cylinder system. Our team will test these valves to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely

Temperature and Pressure Testing

We will test the temperature and pressure settings of your unvented cylinder, ensuring they are within the manufacturer’s recommended range.

Check Safety Devices

We will test and verify the operation of all safety devices, including temperature and pressure relief valves, pressure reducing valves, and thermostats. This ensures that your unvented cylinder is equipped with the necessary fail-safe mechanisms.

Expansion Vessel Check

We check and pressurise any internal or external expansion vessels.

Performance Evaluation

To ensure your unvented cylinder is operating optimally, we will evaluate its performance, including assessing hot water flow rates and the overall efficiency of the system.

Service Certificate

We issue a service certificate upon completion of the service.

I had received an extortionate quote from another company and wanted to compare it to Master Gas London. I spoke with Ed and he was so knowledgable and honest. He took the time to explain the different boiler options and let me know the pros and cons of the different boilers. He was very patient and I am so appreciative of the time he took with regards to the choices I could make. It is such a shame I am located too far away to use this company, as their professional response and advice was outstanding.

I was very anxious about my boiler to be fixed properly until I found Ed from the first telephone call, my anxiety has been eased off immediately because he was so polite, explained potential issues and he tried to book me in as quickly as possible even though he is very busy. He was so professional from beginning to end. At the site he investigated the problems and explained to me the issues and he didn’t leave until everything was sorted out properly. Today I was able to take a comfortable bath for the first time in a long time. Thank you Ed. Highly recommend and will definitely recommend to my friends!

Ed and team came to install a new boiler a few months back and I've been meaning to leave a review ever since because they were so great. Worked all day and didn't leave us until everything was working. They are more than happy to stay in touch if there's any follow ups too which is great.

FAQ'S

The lifespan of an unvented cylinder can vary depending on factors such as usage, maintenance, and water quality. On average, a well-maintained unvented cylinder can last for approximately 15 to 20 years.

Unvented cylinders are safe when installed and maintained correctly. They are designed with various safety features, such as pressure relief valves and expansion vessels, to ensure safe operation and prevent over-pressurisation.

It is recommended to have your unvented cylinder serviced annually. Regular servicing helps identify any potential issues, ensures efficient operation, and extends the lifespan of the system.

Unvented cylinders offer several benefits, including high water pressure for multiple outlets, fast and powerful hot water delivery, no need for a separate cold water storage tank, and flexibility in system design.

Unvented cylinders can be integrated with various heating systems, such as conventional boilers, heat pumps, or solar thermal systems. A qualified engineer can assess your current system and recommend the most suitable configuration.

If you observe a leak or suspect any problems with your unvented cylinder, it’s crucial to contact a qualified engineer immediately. They can assess the situation, identify the cause, and perform the necessary repairs.

In most cases, it is possible to switch from a vented system to an unvented cylinder. However, it requires a thorough assessment of your current plumbing setup and may involve modifications to accommodate the unvented system.

Regular maintenance, including flushing and cleaning the system, helps maintain good water quality. It’s also advisable to have your water tested periodically to ensure it meets the required standards and doesn’t contain any contaminants.
